Democrats in Service

Dems provide donate time and support to local community. Below are just a few of the events where we've gathered to make our little place in the world a better place. Public service and civic duty is what its all about. Dems make a difference in this community by working together -- prioritizing youth opportunities, elder care, environmental health, transportation, jobs, and public safety.

Obama funds make their way to local families

Dems representative hands over donation to 1,000
donation to Child & Family Services worker.

The Obama/Biden campaign collected an unprecidented amount of money from millions of Americans during the 2008 campaign. Much of the donations poured in during the last month prior to the election and was not processed or spent. Typically, left-over funds are held by candidates for their future elections and other activities. However, the Obama/Biden camp decided to distribute funds back to communities.

In thinking about how to spend the money, it was decided that donating the money to the local Family & Child Services was the best way to positively impact Clinton County residents while demonstrating our values. The Clinton County Family & Child Services is a government-run organization that models the best of community -- providing classes to young parents, prenatal nutrition assistance, counseling referrals, and other services that increase the stability and health of families. We believe this leads to safer and happier children and thus a stronger community.

The 4-H Fair is a tradition in Clinton County that continues to offer connections to our agricultural heritage. The pen of 3 Grand Champion chicken roasters were raised by a hardworking young lady, daughter of Nate and Cindy Krupp of from Eagle. The chickens were processed by Roy Davis, Sr. and will be donated to the local food pantry. August 30, 2007

3rd Annual Bath Trail Run
Dems were one of the main sponsors of the 3rd Annual Bath Trail Run. Several members of the Clinton County Democrats also participated as runners.

Proceeds from the Bath Trail Run go to the Bath Schools Athletic Boosters to support youth participating primarily in cross-county, track and field events. We commendvolunteer organizers like Rick Hammond who do so much to make fitness fun for families.

4-H Fair 2007

The 4-H Fair in August has always been big in Clinton County and the Clinton County Dems did their part to make sure local youth were rewarded for their efforts. During the July 2007 meeting, individual Democrats generously contributed to the purchase of livestock.

Scott Nichols represented the Dems at the auction. "It was great to hear the auctioneer report the first sale (a set of prize chickens). To a packed stadium, he loudly announced, "First sale goes to... the Clinton County Democrats! 'Welcome to the Party, Dems!'"

The 3 chickens were promptly sent to a local meatpacker and have been donated to the Clinton County Department of Human Services Food Bank serving local families.
