Local Candidates Gain Ground for 2007Terry Link - 7th District County Commissioner
As with every endeavor by Terry, he fully committed to running his campaign for the 7th District County Commission. He and his many supporters worked tirelessly to reach local voters. Clinton County's 7th District will benefit from the incredible organizational experience, education, and vision of this Laingsburg area leader. Eileen Heideman - 6th District County CommissionIt was impressive that Eileen took the 6th District following many years of Republican rule. She'll now represent the southern part of Clinton County on the County Commission. Other 2006 CampaignsRegrettably, Doug Earl did not win in his area. We are hoping Doug will return for the next 5th District election. Judy Ford came oh-so-close (49%) to winning her bid to be Michigan's 85th District Representative. We hope she'll continue to influence local politics until the next election when she'll be sure to win for Democrats. Nancy White was a great addition to the Michigan Senate race this year. Let's hope she'll return in the next round. Ron McComb ran a very aggressive campaign in Clinton and southern Gratiot Counties. He'll surely be one to watch in the next election. Clinton County Democrats, Independents, and cross-over Republicans elected both Jennifer Granholm for Governor and Debbie Stabenow for the U.S. Senate. This will go a long way towards ensuring our public funds are spent with an eye towards ensuring our children have a peaceful, productive future. Jim Marcinkowski offered Michigan citizens an opportunity to vote for a dramatically different candidate from the incumbant, Mike Rogers. He did very well considering that his campaign did not have access to the enormous donations of the Roger's campaign from drug companies, oil executives, and the insurance industry. Although this limited his visibility with voters, Jim was still able to get the word out that the federal Republican congress was carving away our personal liberties, moral reputation around the world, and our future economic stability in its zealousness in Iraq. |
